Link Agri ("we", "us", "our") sells and sources quality used agricultural machinery across the UK. This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you contact us or use linkagri.co.uk. We are the data controller for that information.

Information we collect
We only ask for what we need to answer you properly and do business with you. Depending on how you get in touch, that may include:
- Your name and contact details — name, phone number and email address, so we can reply.
- Your enquiry — whether you are buying, selling or asking about delivery, plus whatever you tell us in your message.
- Machine details — if you are selling or part-exchanging, the make, model, year, hours and condition of your machine, and any photographs you send us.
- Transaction records — if you buy or sell a machine, the paperwork and payment records that go with the deal.
We do not ask for special category data, and we do not buy in marketing lists.
How we collect it
Almost always because you have given it to us directly — by calling, emailing, messaging us on social media, or filling in the enquiry form on our contact page.
One point worth being clear about: the enquiry form on our website opens a message in your own email program rather than sending your details to a database. Nothing you type is stored on our website. Your details reach us as an ordinary email, and we handle them from our inbox in the same way as any other email you send us.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:

Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing. We share it only where it is needed to do the job:
- Hauliers and delivery contractors — your name, delivery address and phone number, so a machine can reach you.
- Finance providers — only if you ask us to put you in touch, and only with what they need.
- Our accountants and professional advisers — as part of ordinary bookkeeping and compliance.
- Our email and IT providers — who host the systems our correspondence sits in.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us or a suitable machine turns up. Records relating to an actual sale or purchase are kept for at least six years after the end of the tax year they fall in, because HMRC requires it. After that we delete or securely destroy them.
Keeping it safe
We take sensible precautions to protect your information, including access controls on our systems and devices, and limiting who in the business can see what. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so please bear that in mind when sending anything sensitive by email.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate information corrected.
- Ask us to delete your information, where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
- Ask us to transfer it to another provider, where it was given to us electronically.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our basis for using it.

Marketing
If you have asked us to let you know when a particular kind of machine comes in, we will contact you about it. You can tell us to stop at any time — reply to any message, email us, or simply say so on the phone, and that is the end of it.
Other websites
Our site links to our Facebook and Instagram profiles, and may link to manufacturers or hauliers. This policy covers only linkagri.co.uk. Once you follow a link elsewhere, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top when we do.
